New Technologies: Same Responsibilities: Privacy Awareness Week 2012

“Don’t be evil”. Google’s motto used to set it apart, at least in PR terms, from tech companies famous for having scant regard for the user experience, particularly individual privacy. Recent changes to Google’s privacy policy (and the establishment of its new Cloud service) have experts warning that, if not evil, at the very least Google is disregarding even the most basic privacy provisions. Some even say it’s in breach of the law.

This week is Privacy Awareness Week and the theme is New Technologies: Same Responsibilities. Go here to find out more. What’s more, on May 16, Privacy Victoria are running a Law Week workshop, Your Privacy Rights: What You Need to Know.

At a time when privacy agreements are difficult to understand “even for trained privacy professionals“, finding out everything you need to know is even more important.

Book here. It’s free.
